Basic Notes Concepts (Release 4) In this one-day course, you will learn to navigate within the Notes workspace, compose and view documents in a database, and use Notes mail. It is designed
as an introduction to new Notes users who have been given author or editor access to Notes databases. Prerequisites Familiarity with PCs and Microsoft Windows or OS/2 Presentation Manager.
Notes Technical User (Release 4) This one-day course is an advanced presentation of some of the more technical
user features of Notes. It is designed for Notes users who serve as technology leaders for other Notes users and who have been given editor or designer access to Notes databases. Prerequisites A strong working knowledge of writing worksheet formulas and at least three
months of experience using Notes.
Lotus Notes System Administration 1 (Release 4) This four-day course is for the experienced LAN administrators who install and maintain Notes client-server topology throughout their organization. This course
provides a solid foundation for the Notes System Administrator. Through lecture and hands-on exercises, the student gains in-depth experience in setting up,
operating, and maintaining Notes servers and client workstations. Prerequisites The prerequisites for this course include:
- Completion of the entire Lotus Notes R4 User curriculum or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.
- At least three (3) months experience using Notes.
- Extensive experience installing and configuring workstation network hardware and software.
- Knowledge of operating system commands and graphical windowed environments.
- Working knowledge of at least one network operating system.
- General knowledge of network protocol operation.
Lotus Notes System Administration 2 (Release 4)
This three-day course is for the experienced System Administrators who are responsible for managing multiple domains, and/or are interested in monitoring
and network performance methods and tools. This course provides students with hands-on experience in server monitoring and statistics, database management, cross certification, managing multiple domains, and extending
Notes communications. Prerequisites The prerequisites for this course include:
- A minimum of six (6) months experience as a Notes Administrator.
- A minimum of six (6) months experience using Notes.
- Completion of Notes System Administration 1 course or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Working knowledge of at least one network operating system.
- General knowledge of network protocol operation.
Lotus Notes Application Development 1 (Release 4)
This three-day course is for the new Notes application developers who do not have prior experience developing a Notes application. The audience may have
some experience developing applications in other tools or languages. This course presents the basic principles, concepts, and tasks of Notes application
development. On the first day, students will gain hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing a single database Notes application. On the
second and third days, students will enhance and modify the application to incorporate increasingly advanced Notes features and functionality.
Prerequisites The prerequisites for this course include:
- Completion of the complete Notes R4 User curriculum or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.
- At least three (3) months experience working in a Notes application.
Lotus Notes Application Development 2 (Release 4)
This four-day course is for application developers who are experienced in developing a single-database Notes application. This course builds on the principles of Notes application development presented in Application
Development I. Through lecture and hands-on experience, students will learn how to build a multi-database Notes application that automates workflow
between several departments. A central theme of this course is application-wide implementation versus the Application Development 1 theme of database-centric implementation. Prerequisites The prerequisites for this course include:
- Completion of the Lotus Notes R4 Application Development I course or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.
- Completion of the Lotus Notes R4 System Administration I course or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience.
- A minimum of three (3) months experience developing and troubleshooting single-database applications.
